  1. Risk a maximum of 1-2% of your account on any single trade.
  2. Every trade gets a stop-loss placed before you enter - no exceptions.
  3. Size positions by formula: risk dollars divided by stop distance, never by gut feel.
  4. Avoid trading through major news spikes unless news trading is your tested edge.
  5. Cap your leverage. High leverage kills accounts faster than bad entries.
  6. Keep a trading journal: entry, exit, reason, and how you felt.
  7. Set a max daily loss. When you hit it, you are done for the day.
  8. Never average down a losing position to 'get a better price'.
  9. Trade one setup in one session until it is proven - no system-hopping.
  10. Backtest any strategy on historical data before risking live money.
  11. Trading capital and rent money live in separate universes. Never mix them.
  12. Withdraw profits on a schedule instead of letting everything ride.
  13. Read withdrawal terms before depositing - bonus traps live in the fine print.
  14. Check which regulated entity your broker account actually opens under.
  15. Review every week: win rate, average win vs average loss, max drawdown.

1. Nominal APY vs. Real Post-Inflation Yield

A common pitfall in yield farming and staking is prioritizing high nominal APY percentages without factoring in baseline network token inflation. For instance, if a network offers 14% nominal staking rewards but dilutes circulating supply by 10% annually, your real purchasing power expansion is only ~3.6%.

2. Liquid Staking Derivatives (LSTs) & Capital Efficiency

Liquid staking protocols (such as Lido stETH, Rocket Pool rETH, and JitoSOL) allow institutional participants to maintain yield generation while retaining liquidity for DeFi lending and liquidity provision. However, LSTs introduce smart contract and depeg risk that must be modeled into portfolio variance.
